How It Works

Five steps.
Zero dollars.

01

Create your free account.

No credit card. No trial period. No catch. You are a songwriter. You get in.

02

Upload your 10 best complete songs.

Words and music — both authored by you. A full song. Not a hook. Not a verse. The whole thing.

03

Disclose the demo. Certify the ownership.

Tell us how the demo was made and certify you wrote the words and music. That's the deal.

04

Industry finds you.

Your song is available immediately to paid First 10 members. Paid Pro members can access it beginning on day 11. They find the work — not the follower count.

05

Replace any song, any time.

Your 10 slots are yours forever. Swap a song when you write something better. There is no lifetime upload limit.

Your Rights

The song is yours.
Full stop.

You own the song.

Uploading to WriterCut Music transfers zero rights. You keep 100% of your publishing and ownership.

No exclusivity.

You can pitch the same song anywhere else. WriterCut Music is not a deal. It's a window.

You control what's live.

Pull a song any time. Replace it. Delete your account. Your catalog, your call.

No hidden fees.

Free to join. Free to upload your 10. Free to replace any of your 10 forever. Exactly 10 active song slots — never 11, never 1,000.

FAQ

Real questions.
Straight answers.

Do I need a finished recording?

You need a demo — something that communicates the song. It can be a voice memo, a piano/vocal, or a full production. What matters is the song.

What counts as a "complete song"?

Words and music, both authored by you. A verse, a chorus, a bridge — a full song structure. Not a hook. Not a lyric sheet without music.

Can I upload co-writes?

Yes. You'll credit all co-writers. Each co-writer must have their own WriterCut Music account and agree to the upload.

What if I co-wrote the song?

Co-writes are welcome. Credit every co-writer and make sure each contributor agrees to the upload.

What happens when industry requests a hold?

You get notified and may accept or decline. If accepted, the song stays live but is marked held, and you agree not to pitch it elsewhere during the fixed 30-day window. The hold cannot be shortened, extended, renewed, or released early. It creates no license, ownership transfer, purchase obligation, or deal.

Who can see a new song after I publish it?

Paid First 10 industry members can see and hear it immediately. Paid Pro industry members can access it beginning on day 11. The 10-day first look is discovery access only; it is not a hold, license, or transfer of rights.

Is there a cost to upgrade or get more slots?

No. There is no upgrade. 10 slots is the model. It keeps the catalog sharp and the playing field level.

Free. Forever.
